It could well be that at some time after connection ( providing it happens), there may well be new cornerstone investors willing to bet on the tech.
One can only speculate how long due diligence might take, and the new investors would most likely be native to the US or Chile etc. Their due diligence would also take into account the local circumstances surrounding regulatory approvals and so on. It seems to me that if CNX's IP is a goer, it would be difficult to predict what the news flow might be.
