I was reading an interesting comment on another thread, reportedly by a company director who was trying to stress the dichotomy between the shareholder with a short term outlook and those of a board of directors who determine to build a company using much longer term time frames.
Hence, the shareprice (For the company) is generally irrelevant when commissioning a mine, or in our case, negociating joint ventures and proving up our ground.
I believe SJ and the team have a vision for the company which, if successful, will see GGP producing 2000boepd in 2-3 years time. During this time there will be more land acquired in areas with proven oily shale, and more partnering up.
There will be delays, setbacks with poorly performing wells, fluctuating oil prices, and volatile markets, to contend with. All through this, the company will soldier on, growing the company while we shareholders fret over market temperement and plot the SP on a graph.
Excuse the waffling, I'm just trying to emphasise that our goals don't always align short term, and we can't expect management to pull rabbits out of the hat just because we've decided to sell at the end of the month cos we have to pay for the daughters wedding or rebuild the engine in the Mustang.
I do think little ole GGP will see share price growth consistant with the rise in production, but not until the wells are consistantly over 500bopd and that should be achievable over the next 3-5 months, so I think some short term goals will be met for those of us wanting to bail and move into something else, while those wishing to hang on for the long term will have a much better idea of whether or not their decision to go with the company vision has some foundation.
