Haha Martis.....your a bit of an optimist to think the gap will be closed that easily...humourous to say the least......however the copper spot price is looking good thanks to the Shanghai Inventories...
MRX should continue to recover next week and we may see the gap filled early in the piece ....Dow J down 208 points last night so we may see a market reaction to this come monday again................
The reason for the fall in the Dow is predominately due to worries about the prospect of a worsening climate for takeover financing persisted, raising fears that the big deals that have buoyed markets could dry up..
Investors fear increasing deterioration in credit markets would hurt chances for more corporate buyouts and dry up funding, and that losses in the subprime mortgage market may spill over into the broader economy....unfortunately the spin doctors will be out in force so dont get too caught up in the doomsayers ....lol
The good thing for us is that MRX are producing copper cathode and we just need to weather the storm ....
..Monday may not be great but Tuesday onwards should see a bit of recovery in the US....Unfortunately what happens in the US effects us...the positive thing is that copper spot price remains high.......cheers jam
DJ MARKET TALK: Comex Copper Up On GDP, Shanghai Inventories
1512 GMT [Dow Jones] - Slightly higher-than-expected GDP data and a drawdown
in Shanghai inventories are supporting Comex copper, says Mike Zarembski,
senior commodities analyst with optionsXpress. "Kind of a little bit of a
rebound," he says. After a pit low of $3.5050, the Sep contract is up 3.05
cents at $3.5530 a pound. The 3.4% second-quarter pickup in growth announced
Friday morning exceeded the expected 3.3% increase. "That gave a little bit of
support to the copper market," Zarembski says. While daily inventories of
copper stored in LME warehouses rose 1,975 metric tons, once-a-week data show
Shanghai Futures Exchange inventories declined 1,093 tons. That was a bit of a
surprise, Zarembski says, and the Shanghai drop is outweighing the LME boost to
create support for the copper contract. (MWH)
