No. of trees declined from 115244 on June 30 2015 to 110790 on June 30 2016. Assuming the difference is down to mortality that's 3.9% drop in one year. More consistent with 40% survival rate over 15yrs than 85%
perhaps the more recent plantings will indeed have 85% survival rate when they get to maturity, but in the meantime the ones that are going to be harvested sooner look like having higher mortality rates.
