You've got biggest and best confused, there is nothing efficient about the way bhp manage an asset, ask anyone that has worked for several mining companies. The best way I've heard bhp described is "they are busy bending over picking $5 notes up off the ground, while $100 notes fly out of their back pocket" still, they (bhp) have enough asset diversification to weather any commodity storm.
