My sentiment is usually positive about stocks I own... and frequently, when I post my thoughts I get plenty of 'likes'... but if my sentiment changes my posts start to reflect that ... I might still get likes ...but from a whole lot of different people. The stock threads are pretty tribal.
IMO... HC is not about knowing what you are talking about... very, very few posters are knowledgeable and actually understand the business' being discussed. What it can be about is ... together... we arrive at a realistic way to value to opportunities. Over time, I have found [far and away] the most useful posters in that process are the ones that raise objections, disagree and generally provide all sorts of hurdles to 'falling in love'. Further... it is rapidly becoming a red flag when I see the commentary posted is repetitive, soothing and constantly offering reassurance that this is the stock to be in for the 'long haul'...
