Hi Valen, its surprising how widely applicable a good setup can be, so I think random selection is also a good way to go. To be honest, my learning has taught me even an average setup can consistently make money but the key really is good money/trade management, i.e. average setup with good MM/TM will normally beat a good setup with no/poor MM/TM.
