I understand, but I believe part of the reason the tipping was originally structured this way was so that it was much harder for members with significant influence on the stock price of smaller companies (due to large personal funds, a large following, group trading, etc.) to get successful tips due to relatively artificial SP moves.
During particularly hype-fuelled stages of the market, some posters were able to tip just about any small stock during the day and see an almost immediate price spike.
