I mentioned this in the CR8 subforum but this competition will effectively serve as a proof of concept for Metlife Asia, with a $100,000 paid trial for the winner and up to $500,000 in funding from a venture capitalist firm.
The exposure gained from the competition alone would be worth the effort, not to mention the potential upside of winning a paid contract with one of the largest insurance companies in the world.
And now, I'm by no means an expert on their platform but Catriona explained at the investor presentation that plugging Flamingo into the back-end of a company's system is a pretty simple process. The main hurdle they face is getting a foot in door, providing a proof of concept, and then abiding by each individual company's policies.
If it's true that CR8 are already working with Metlife US, I imagine that porting the platform over to Metlife Asia wouldn't be as time consuming as people are expecting.
