As stock traders we find it hard to understand why people buy ETFs when they can outperform ETFs by big margin if they could pick the leaders. But I think ETFs can be helpful in many ways. For instance, If you don't trade international shares, but you're confident that they're going to do well you can buy ETFs instead.. Part time investors can make use of ETFs. Explorers- I trade shells all the way to major producers. Mining sector itself is very risky compared to non-mining sectors. But if you know how explorers trade there's plenty of money to be made. In regard to gold producers, I often hesitate because they're dependent on o/n gold price. For this reason(may sound strange) I often find explorers easier and less stressful. TA makes life easier. Past and future news reflect in the chart most of the time IMO.
