- Si6 Metals (SI6) has received the final results from the recently completed reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Monument Gold Project in WA
- The recent drilling program consisted of 34 RC holes drilled across the Korong and Waihi prospects to target strike extensions to the mineralisation
- Results from Korong peaked at 2.56g/t gold while results from Waihi peaked at 5.89g/t gold
- Si6 Metals will use the results from both prospects to generate a 3D geological model and calculate a new mineral resource estimate
Si6 Metals (SI6) has received the final results from the recently completed reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Monument Gold Project.
The Monument Project lies in Western Australia and covers 310 square kilometres of the world-class Laverton Gold District.
It consists of significant gold mineralisation and around 30 kilometres of relatively untested gold-hosted banded iron formation (BIF).
Si6 Metals' recent drilling program consisted of 34 RC holes drilled across the Korong and Waihi prospects which lie across the BIF.
The aim of this drilling was to target strike extensions to the existing mineralisation.
So far, only 10 per cent of the 30-kilometre BIF has been tested with RC and diamond core drilling.
Previous work along the BIF, which consisted of geochemical sampling and aircrew drilling, has identified five other prospects.
Korong
Holes at the Korong Prospect were drilled to 150 metres to test the central, southern and northern extension of the mineralisation.
Best results include five metres at 2.56g/t gold from 124 metres, three metres at 2.18g/t gold from 136 metres and five metres at 2.03g/t gold from 60 metres.
Drilling has successfully identified mineralisation over a 550 metre strike length with mineralisation remaining open down-plunge.
Waihi
Further drilling at the Waihi Prospect is needed to enhance the geometry of the mineralised shoots.
Results include four metres at 5.89g/t gold from 62 metres and three metres at 2.45g/t gold from 60 metres.
Si6 Metals will now use the results from both prospects to generate a 3D geological model and calculate a new mineral resource estimate.
"These latest results from our first phase Korong and Waihi drilling program have returned some fantastic results which further extend the areas of known mineralisation at the Monument Gold Project," Executive Chairman Patrick Holywell said.
"Phase one results confirm that significant upside remains at both Korong and Waihi to delineate near-surface gold resources, with both prospects remaining open in all directions," he added.
