People do on forums what they wouldn't do in person ... we frequently withhold our 'sincere advice' from people when we have misgivings about their choices [and frankly ... how many times does a person ask for another's opinion?]. In face to face contact we all tend to keep our opinions to ourselves and don't impose our views on others regarding their choices.... so it's little wonder that criticism meets a hostile reception on the threads ....imo. [It's the same thing with that old cheerful comment ..."I told you so"...not].

There are some forum discussions that centre on a critical and fair minded analysis of a stock .... but they don't happen often.
