Geez the memories are flooding back now. When I was young my folks bought me some shares in Bell Resources ($500 worth of my pocket money from cutting the grass and weeding which I hated doing). Anyway they doubled in price or thereabouts and I thought wow, how good is the stockmarket. Then a man called Mr Bond became involved and the rest is history. Was a great early learning lesson that still stays with me today.
