Weekly Fundamental and Technical Analysis Prospects - Week Starting 28th Jan 2013 (No. 50)

Here’s this week’s FA and TA List. The newer items first and those carried forward from last week towards back of list (some of the items from last week have a time horizon of more that one week).
All listed market caps are undiluted (and do not include escrowed shares) (Note: Max time for any entry on list will be 4 weeks after which time it will be removed).

Important Note: Remember just because it appears on the list does not necessarily mean it will rise in price... it may actually fall or do nothing. So it is critical that you perform detailed research on each stock first and make your own mind up to whether invest or not. I suggest you run a stop-loss at all times when trading/investing. How tight your stops are depends on your threshold to risk and financial pain. Lastly I take no responsibility for the accuracy of the information provided as I do not have the time to research all the facts that have been provided. Best of Luck.!

    Weekly Fundamental Analysis Prospects
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
KFE - Iron Ore in Nigeria, Back on it in anticipation of MET results for their IO project in Nigeria which are due by the end of the month. SP seems to have found resistance at 22ish. Provided they can remove the phosphorus this should fly up to previous highs of 38c. (Mcap:$64.1m) Click Here for full detail

TAS - Iron Ore, Copper , Gold, Uranium in South Australia, TAS own 48% of EDE, so given $7mil cash in bank and $10 mil EDE valuation the Vulcan JV with RIO is now effectively valued at $3mil, not sure that can stay that way given they are looking for Olympic Dam at Vulcan!

CTR - Oil/Gas in Guatemala, CTR are 90% of the way through a problematic drilling program in the South Peten Basin in Guatemala that has nearlogy to existing oil producing fields. The share price has dropped on the back of drilling delays and problems. The most significant of which blocked off a target lower zone through excess concrete (the next well will target these zones however and hopefully the company will learn from this initial mistake). The company is still bullish about the top zones with good cap pressure and gas flares all being reported (see announcements). Schlumberger, who are running the drilling program, are in the final stage of acid washing the target zones to establish flow rates. So there is oil - but how much? Anything above 250bpd will see appreciation. Anything around 1000bpd will see recent highs well and truly tested. (Mcap:$8.9m) Click Here for full detail

PPX - Paper supplier internationally, The company is due to report the half year result in Feb , which wont be flash in my view but the new board will have their first opportunity to tell the market what they have done in the last months and this will be heavily scrutinized by large instos who used to own the stock when it was $$$ not cents . PPX should come in with just under $2 billion in revenue for the half year and I am hoping will tell the market they are capable of turning the boat around I anticipate that we will see some more buying , AND THIS should soak loose stock up below 10c , a market cap of $60 m Any hint of a return to profit in the 2nd half could see the stock rise dramatically. There is a lot of risk in this one , but if PPX can show a signal of being capable of maintaining $4 billion in revenue and returning to profit the market cap of $60 million is low

AKK - Oil/Gas in the US, For their current well very soon and also their. Quarterly is about to be delivered in the next few days. Last it only took a positive announcement of. Oil and gas flow to increase the sp by over 50 %.if a positive oil flow rate and a positive quarterly this could be very positive for the sp. This stock requires very little positive or negative announcements for a large move in the sp. (Mcap:$37.4m) Click Here for full detail

KKO - Oil/Gas in South Africa, Now hold 15000 square kms of the Karoo basin in SA. That’s like 3.7 million acres. Two wells into a 6 well gas pilot production drilling program and the first 2 wells have flowed better than expected. They have infrastructure running through their tenements and are close to market which is currently paying approx $10 a Gj which is eminently economic. Have put this one up before when they started drilling but still no price movement even with success. Interestingly they are only drilling down about 400m into the shallow Karoo Coal measure for this production so very cheap and quick drilling i.e. given price it will be very profitable project shortly one would think.
