China owns 2% freehold of the Australian landmass and has 100B investment. This is apart from the $billions of our other exports to them.
When they invade Taiwan Austtalia will be at war with them. This is because they have openly stated it many times because of our role on the Taiwan Straigts naval 'open seas' patrolling we do. China has written in its Global TImes Newspaper that Australia will 'taste the bitter pill' over this. Besides, no keen observer of these things denies how our involvement there now will not bring us into this coming war. Quite the contraary. Only peaceniks, the Greens, and your online trolls here deny these types of things. This is how foolish many of them are. When we are at war with China, they will say we brough it upon ourselves for upsetting China etc....... just like some said that the British didn't appease Hitler sufficiently.
If it wasn't for the presence of the US 7th Fleet in the Western Pacific (since WW2), China would have taken Taiwan years ago. It is worth mentioning that a US General was quoted as saying last year that the US cannot afford to send a second fleet to the Western Pacific as it is too dangerous. It is very possible that the 7th will suffer a Pearl Harbour like-event very quickly, unfortunately for Australia and themselves, of course. This wilkl create a paradigm shift in the WP like we can't imagine..... or can we....read on.
Politicians certainly do not talk about the threats openly, but only in general terms: increased militart build-up etc. But we are not importing medium range missiles and intend building a missile factory here for nothing, nor planning to build nuclear subs etc. Suddenly Australia knows that it is extrememly under protected. When (not if) Australia is at war with China, all their owned asetts here revert to the Commonwealth. They forfeit all their land and infrastructure, and of course, all our other exports to them will suddenly stop.
But besides taking back these, there is a critical strategic reason for China holding (northern) Australia. If we are really unlucky, China will make its move on Taiwan in 2024 before Trump takes over. This, apart from being bold, would possibly be tactically smart as once Trump is in and begins the tarrifs etc on China, things only get harder for them. Also, Trump is likely to throw everything they have at them when they take Taiwan. But not like sleepy Joe, who failed in Afganistan, tolerates Iran (putting it mildlly) and even though a supporter of Ukraine, has only supplied enough weapons for them to hold their own. Tokenism.
