I'm can't speak for whether it's possible for bots to work in the auction, but I've never seen them do so. It makes sense though. If their purpose is to cap, accumulate or nudge the price, it stands to reason that they need an actively trading market to do their job. Interesting point you make and a good post too, thanks.
