    look into AmiBroker, you can set this up with free EOD data from Yahoo while you are learning the software, then move to a PremiumData subscription to get clean up to date data when you're ready for it. There's no end of available scanning and back-testing code available for AmiBroker online from various blogs, websites, Yahoo Groups etc, also the support is very good. There are also several ebook guides available free online.
