We call them ‘shark biscuits’ over here Diver, must admit the BH has picked up surfing extremely well last year or so, her Achilles heel though she is completely paranoid about sharks, irrationally so.
Explained the concept of the ‘biscuit’, very much along the lines of the old ‘canary in the coal mine’ adage or everything has a purpose philosophy. Thought she would be appalled but being a lawyer she agreed made perfect sense.
She now values a pod of ‘biscuits’ in the water nearby, not too close to impede wave selection but she seems comforted by the process of the continual ‘head count’, our conversations out the back while waiting for the next set always pre-empted by her observation “there’s still 4 hon”.
Have told her sharks have much more too fear from us than we do from them, the decimation of populations to satisfy the unnecessary ignorance of human ritual comes to mind with shark fin soup, absolutely criminal, don't get me on to elephants and ivory, enough to promote racism in the 'weak of mind'
Always been of the mind a species is somewhat defined by the empathy it displays over other species it dominates, if true we are very much 2
nd hand.
As advised not trading much at small end, active with the large caps and totally focused on the Global Lit ETF to trade manage my holdings in PSC & AVZ, fast becoming 2 of my best ever holds, free carried in both which tends to lend itself to laziness in the garage, but the monetary balance is of a magnitude that demands visual.
Also the contrarian in me watching a few high-quality tech retracements which still display longer term uptrends, I find myself constantly lengthening my TA time horizons for added overview these days, watching PPL in particular with patience, already hold some, did add some BMT the other week but my opens must admit are at historical lows, also put some RNU & TLX in the daughter's account at recent lows. Win Win for the boys as if TLX carks it on results we have decided to just blame Ammie
.
Anyway off to QLD to catch up with the BH’s parents for xmas, not a chore as I get on quite well with them surprisingly, BH bit of ‘princess’ with more than a touch of the ‘Karen’ about her, the 3 of us love nothing more than ganging up on her over a few Christmas wines and bringing her down a few pegs, pretty smart cookie the BH and one on one usually get dusted so opportunity beckons.
Hound loves it up there, a man of the perimeter, they live on an old farm in the hinterland, so the little bloke has a ‘blue sky’ perimeter to patrol, ‘pig in shit’.
Mike Nesmith passed, some good tunes, this one in particular quality to the ear, any song benefits from Linda Ronstadt’s voice but when a good melody to begin with something special indeed. RIP.
