hey mate yes that is the purpose. Sure there are successful traders that don't know coding but id be willing to wager that there aren't many quantitative traders that don't know how to code. I've gone about as far up that path as i can without learning how. For example i have a particular system that uses a 30% take profit and 15% stop loss which i've built over the last year with various software wizards that kind of write the code for you like frontpage editor for html etc etc. I believe there is potential for it to work better with risk adjusted stop loss measures but there is no way to backtest and do walkforward testing or optimization tests without one of the more powerful software platforms which require some coding knowledge, which is where i find myself now.
