That is a good analogy @Dazedandconfused. There are men and women who cannot be bribed.   Regardless of their political stripe, if you look them in the eye - even in the absence of personal knowledge - you get the feeling they don't give a damn about money or the gaze of the other.  The ones that fit that description as defined by my personal frame of reference have imho left the current US administration's cabinet positions.  The sober minded individuals that you never hear about  serve on the periphery.   If serious stuff goes down, you will hear about them.  The problem is that tragedy is often necessary to bring such problems of integrity and character to light.
