Haven't traded through a crash yet ( lost a packet in 1987, 2001 and 2008 ) was a bluechip buy and forget type then - reacquired most of it over the next few years as prices rose.  Haven't thought about how I'd handle the next one - hold the cream and dump the crap for anything sounds about right. Hopefully I'll retain enough to pick up extra cream near the bottom.
Have recently opened an account that allows shorting ~ WOW ; BHP have been successful so far but they were high probability fails after the reports they put out ~ still working out if I'd use it for anything but these types.
