Institutions are bound by rules in what they can invest in. Needs to be ASX 300 or S+P 500 etc.
So they only go for low risk companies that are risk free and pay dividends etc.
So Institutions cannot play the riskier Small Cap end of the market where possible Ten Baggers are found and thats where retail traders like yourself and smaller Hedge funds can make some money.
Smaller start ups are cheap because they are high risk can equal high reward.
