Happy weekend traders,
Lithium is getting traction again. How will this run be different from the last ones?
Short term traders are happy to exploit supply bottlenecks, but do you think most investors are concerned about the pace of extraction as it relates to the environment?
How soon do you think the problems caused by environmental concerns in places like the Lithium Triangle will be overcome, if at all?
The peoples of the Andes Lithium Triangle area disagree on the risk/benefit analysis to their homelands. Lithium mining is thought to be causing risk to water supplies and more, in an environment that is already under duress from climate change. Many do not want their environment to be exploited in an international moral calculus that pits the needs and preconceptions of industrial nations against the local environment, industry, indigenous culture and ultimately the world.
