You don't have to look that far back in time, the dot com bubble is example enough, and you certainly don't have to pick the winners during the bubble, there'll be ample opportunity post bubble to select them.
Watch and substitute the various coins/blockchain versions for the stocks mentioned, history doesn't repeat but it damn sure rhymes. I'm sure it would've been similar when electricity and the railroads rolled out too.
