Don't be afraid to fork out good $ for a good accountant is my opinion. They charge accordingly because they are good. But they more than make up for their charges. My accountant was able to find +30k of expenditure contributable to business of share trading. New computer,printer & ink, rent space, electricity, internet, phone, office paraphernalia, depreciation etc - just to name some obvious ones. Then there were the writedowns/losses on top of that too.
I also have investment property that helps offset income too, so that helps as well.
All legit, they just know the rules better and what they can get with.
