Free runs the comp. If he wants to put in the effort to change it, that's his time and effort, his choice.
W.r.t. expanding it to longer time frames, imho, ok, great ADD THEM ON rather than replacing the 4wk timeframe.
My own personal view point on the 4wk / 25% time frame is it focuses the mind and shares around the love for those following. Successful trading, I am learning is, if not all, a lot, possibly even mostly, about picking and getting your timing right (& tight).
4wks / 25% is absolutely targeted and all about the timing. And most people are happy if they can take 25% in a month.
Expand it beyond that and you get;
1. a lot less TA input as 4wks out is about as much as TA is realistically good for.
2. FA tips lining up well in advance to essentially "squat" a tip for future action.
