I'll be glad when the least popular US President in history gets elected this week and the world moves on a bit.
So many angry/ugly First World white people. I sometimes wonder how they would feel if they were in a minority, which they are not.
Looking forward to retirement in the next few years. Human ingenuity gives me cause for optimism but little else.
There are "alternates" such as humility, wisdom, empathy but I'm not holding my breath for a politician with those qualities to come along. In the meantime we can talk to our families/neighbours and smile at perfect strangers in the supermarket.
My elder son is picking up his first car today from the dealer. A 2001 Mazda 626 which he bought with his own money. A big moment. His old man will be standing quietly in the background, feeling emotional.
