I personally haven't looked at it deeply myself but if I had to lock away money for that period on a stock
Best chances would be looking at a young disruptive software based tech listed on Nasdaq.
Ideally you would be looking at something with the potential to overthrow current systems:
- Netflix overthrowing blockbuster
- Snapchat overthrowing image messaging
- Uber overthrowing Taxis
- Amazon overthrowing shopping
- Oculus (think Facebook acquired these guys...they've absolutely blown up over last 1.5year) overthrowing traditional gaming
- Tesla overthrowing gas based vehicles
- AliBaba overthrowing traditional business supply chains.
- Most recently an app called Waze (crowdsourced GPS) overthrowing traditional GPS systems. I've used it myself and love it basically a livestream GPS which even shows where cops are parked with radars etc. Fairly young new company I think they just got acquired by google this year a friend was telling me.
Also be looking at something scalable so that operational efficiency is independent of customers increasing.
Waze and Tinder is a perfect example where operational efficiency increases the more users it has.
