Can't say I have ever observed what I have thought of as coordinated downramping, or even negative posts with a sophisticated (trading) agenda. Spruiking the stock, much more blatant and obvious with the sentiment usually reflective.
Suspect those who post without their rose-coloured glasses may have just seen the light and wanting to (sometimes obsessively) help others towards it. I'm certainly guilty of this on a few tickers. Have absolutely no intention of buying them regardless of the price.
Usually helping holders see the other point of view doesn't work, creates angst and hostility but is occasionally taken in the spirit intended.
