I think that would depend on what you are trying to find out. Most MD's i speak too are pretty cool & take the time to talk with retailers , i like to build a bit of rapport & then hit'em with a few trick questions to fish out info. A lot of the times i have hung up the phone feeling really educated on what they are trying to achieve and also learning more about the sector they are in.

Have always jotted out points i'm trying to understand or gain insight to , it heaps when trying to steer the convention in way that will make sense to you & also it will flow better.
