One of the reasons I never attend AGM's is that information passed at the meeting may immediately affect the companies share price. It may be good or bad so you don't want to be sitting at the AGM having a coffeee whilst the share price is tanking or going up.It maybe a window to buy or sell.I prefer to go meet the management and/or attend trade functions where the company maybe presenting.I like to attend sales type of conferences and ask the actual salesman how sales are going. Also many companies have showrooms where you can knock on the door and talk to staff on the floor. Also I might do my own surveillance at a companies premises to see how much product goes out the door.I have been to a premises and seen a building in disrepair that does not give you a good feeling.A good entrepreneur has dollar runs on the board and has a big vision. There are very few good management teams but when you find a stock back up the truck.
