    From a VSA (Wyckoff) point of view,

    You should only be Long when the "Parent Index" is in an uptrend.

    Then when you see potential weakness coming in, you either sell, or hedge your position (as mitta3 is often talking about) until the Parent Index is back in an uptrend again.
