    To correct the record:

    - CNX is not involved in R&D. It is commercialising a unique UCG technology developed and patented by the Australian Government through the CSIRO.

    - Previous UCG activity here and overseas (noting that Linc Energy has been hosting a trial burn at Chinchilla for several years now, without incident) is only relevant to CNX to the extent technical lessons were considered by CSIRO in the development of its unique technology.

    - CNX holders are entitled to have every confidence in successful ignition of panel two and electricity to the grid over coming weeks. CNX's 100-day trial produced commercial quantities of syngas, with nil environmental impact, at better quality than anticipated. Moreover, major partners (including Antofagusta, Pacific Road Resources and Arcadia Energy) have been sufficiently impressed with these early results to join foundation investors Incitec Pivot and CSIRO in backing CNX.

CNX is an alternative energy company. People who are invested in CNX understand the potential of a technology that is cheaper than Coal Seam Gas, offers 200% more efficient energy conversion, and generates a more versatile commercial product (syngas for production of electricity, fertiliser, diesel, LNG, plastics).

Pioneering technology is by very definition, not risk-free. Consider the company's partnership with Qld Government-owned ZeroGen to trial carbon capture and storage technology with the 25MW plant. Is it CCS guaranteed to work? Of course not. But the Qld Government's $100+ million investment in ZeroGen says it is keen to have a try.

If people want to invest with zero technological risk, they will put their money in government bonds. If they want to get a slice of an exciting alternative energy technology which could potentially help address the looming national energy crisis (not to mention on the cusp of first sale of energy into the grid), they might look at CNX.

Either way, Nissan's recent posts on this thread have been defamatory and legitimately call his agenda into question. I recommend that he be ignored.
