These comments remind me of my year 11 economics text book. Maybe sensible in theory but demonstrates a complete lack of understanding of this industry in these times. People actually do shop around for vets based on price, especially in lower socioeconomic areas - which never ceases to amaze me.
An example:
Pet owner: “ how much is your consultation fee?”
Me: “what is it for?”
Pet owner: “Oh my dog just got run over by a car.....”
Me: stunned silence.....
