shorted heavily - to rise strongly?

Just having a look at what's been happening with MAH.

Between 23 Dec and yesterday (7 Jan) there have been 3,623,152 short trades our of a total 19,877,666 trades, which is 18.23% of all trades in that period. The price has risen since every day except one in that time, so there has been little opportunity for the shorters to exit from what I see, except for a few chances on 29 and 30 December when the price went lower (although it closed higher on 30 December).

My guess is that this means that when the shorters are finally through, the price will rise very quickly as those who are still in there try to get out with minimal damage.

Now if the market goes lower that will be another story. But from what I see, small caps are on the rise and many have been going up for some time now. So I think a few shorters will be caught short!
