Democracy shouldn't be sold by those who want office as an offence to the average citizen because it will get votes. I don't know any Prime minister who wouldn't take a pay from the position in my time.
If Unions are making advertisements about inequality, then it is a revolution of socialism.
If Labor win the next election, will the leader halve his pay check, Probably not. Why because it's a responsible job, but don't use it for a Christmas voters bonus.
The argument is a bleeding heart from a very comfortable stable in the first place. And it wouldn't change after the fact.
