I don't agree with any form of quota system at all.
All preselections should be made based on merit. Of course we all know that many are not.
Both big parties have powerful behind the scenes movers and shakers who grease palms and make deals that we never know about.
We would be better off if every 4 years, a random selection of people off the electoral roll were called up by national ballot for a term of office. We would have a lot less problems imo.
