I almost bought some today but got tied up then just got back to see the close, very ugly. The market is not over the moon about the acquisition.
'Coppo' raises the question as to whether shorters are going to have a go. Basically push it towards the placement price, shake loose some nervous instos, drop the price further then reduce the take-up by retail investors, creating an overhang. Then cover (buy) into the softness of that overhang. That thought has convinced me to wait a few weeks then reassess.
I have tried to fight shorters before and have learnt that it is better to let them have their way for a while them come in late. For now I am neutral but may buy if shorters hit it hard.
What do others think about the acquisition?
