What I don't understand is why would any holder of stock lend it...

What I don't understand is why would any holder of stock lend it to someone for the sole purpose of driving down the price. I mean, the holder loses value, sure they get fees for lending the shares in the first place but what if the SP goes down that much that the fees they get isn't enough to cover the loss in the SP. It's a bit puzzling to me. IT SHOULD BR BANNED.
