Regulators allow it and dumb management give them reason.
It's not in the ASX interest to stop it thereby reducing their trading fees. Not in their interest unless they can make higher fees from shorting.
Need to make a proper disclosure of short sales and stock borrowing made available. Also the fees for borrowing are more than the fail fees funds pay for not returning stock.
Why would they cost themselves money?
