The data in the shortman graph (5%) is from ASIC, aggregate shorts:
Total number of open short positions. (With 4 day lag).
Daily change is also ASIC reported open short positions. (New shorts minus closed positions) also 4 day lag
The link is to ASX daily gross shorts, but not displayed on shortman.
Daily gross shorts from ASX are not something that can be relied upon. They don't represent open short positions but rather total number of reported short sales. For all we know they could be closed within minutes or hedging transaction shorts by brokers, etc.
