Hi jtaylor1,
The qustion of Specific Gravity in the ore at Rocklands will only be determined when full production is under way.
It is assumed CuDeco Management will maintain records of the of mining which will include volume mined and weight of loads. Over time this should give a very accurate SG.
Problems experienced to date appear to stem from the JORC reporting requirements themselves, and current techniques within the industy used for resource estimation.
When this formula was applied to the unique mineralisation such as occurs at Rocklands, neither the code itself nor the estimation methods were particularly well adapted.
What was overlooked was that for resources having a pervasive nugget effect such as at Rocklands the tendency to discount high grade abundant native copper and supergene minerals combined with a rounding down of the drilling data was likely to under-estimate the resource.
The importance of bulk trials in such circumstances to achieve representative grades should have been clearly communicated to the market. The CuDeco Management tried to communicate this but, unfortunately, has been largely unsuccessful.
I feel that there is a severe undervaluation of the resource at Rocklands.
cheers,
Max
