As at 31/01/2012 FMG had 46 million net outstanding shorts.
Since then the daily shorts have been as follows:
Date Total Traded Short Sales (shorts%)
1/2 13,471,600 6,240,367 (46.3%)
2/2 20,366,600 9,918,913 (49.5%)
Pretty impressive shorters.
Although, many (?most) of the daily shorts will have been covered in the same day.
Last 10 days FMG traded in range 4.86 to 5.19 but mostly just over 5.00.
Are the shorters going to keep going at these levels? What about if the price gets over 5.20 or 5.30?
