Shorting on 88E

Hello again everyone, just wanted to show some example of shorting on 88E that potentially affect further upward momentum either during highs or dipping.

For newbies here trying to learn how to trade, shorting is when instead of buying a stock, you sell a stock (bet against) by making profit on the difference when the stock drops in price (this is only after they "sell" their shorts... by buying the stock back.

Although theres a kicker, if the stock goes upward instead down, the shorters can potentially lose more than they invested (as upward trends can be infinite, so to can a shorters losses become infinite).

Best part is when a shorter sells their stock, they have to buy shares... pushing the price higher.. which can cause more shorters to buy (sell) their positions and a vicious cycle of pusning the price upwards begins.

Also theres another thing that shorters can do to increase the chance of pushing the price downwards (in their favour).

The term is capping: it's when people (and shorters) place large sell orders onto the book to make it seem like people are going to sell in order to dissaude people from buying the stock, it's a psychological tactic to make people fear that if they buy into the ask price. The price might fall, thus upward movement is stalled and even reversed.


Just want to remind people that shortman.com only is only able to show a delayed chart of the total amount of shorters curerntly being held on 88E but if you go on their site it will show you on a pdf the shorts trading from the day before.

My main point is because 88E has such a large market cap it creates the opportunity for people to have significantly large short positions, and I can bet my buttocks that these shorters are most likely experienced traders.
