shorting sales should be banned

    its the shorters that can cause a meltdown IMO

    An investor who buys a share for say $4 will hang on and try not to sell for $3:50 and incur a loss, however an investor(if you call them that) who has not purchased the share can sell the pants of a particular share, and push the price down to say $3 where margin calls etc come into play and the guy who paid $4 has to sell to the guy who shorted it.
    There is no valid reason for a need to short shares, than to line the pockets of brokers and greedy investors.
    If anyone can explain a reason why shorting is good for the companies concerned I will likke to hear it
