I'm not one to defend the Don but pretty sure short selling was invented like 400 years ago by some Dutch geezer who developed short contracts for the local equity index...
Shorting is not the problem its the blatent misuse of ones reputation as a research house (who also has a prop trading desk trading the equities they research...)
Ultimately as many have said above sanity prevails - especially when you re making the kind of money GXY is.. Turn the PC off - go for a walk - go to the pub - do something so you are not constantly looking at your MTM and you will be fine.
