What I don't understand, and would appreciate any opinons on this, is why the Super Funds lend out stock to short sellers. Sure, they might get 1/2 % or similar, but untimately the goal of the short seller is to drive down the SP of the stock.
And, when they are sucsessful, the Super Funds holding as deceased in value, and therfore their returns to members are diminished. Funds are rated (and I hope paid) on the return they generate for members.
Doen't make sense. Unless there is something else going on?
Maybe the funds also invest in the Hedge Funds they are lending to?
