I think you missed the point, or at least my point,

Im not against shorting, but what has been happening is undisclosed shorting to piledrive the price down.

This amounts to serious market manipulation.

There are rules in place for shorting.

Recently the bigger funds, by "borrowing" shares to sell are able to circumvent the rules, as they are technically not selling short.

This loophole does need to be closed.
