I agree Clyde .Super funds should be banned from the practise of lending in Australia also due to potential of destroying retirees wealth .
Also people buy into funds to have exposure to certain investments .If a fund lends out shares for shorting it should be pointed out in big red letters to investors before investing in a particular fund .Too much happens with the management of our money without our knowledge or full understanding .If the average guy on the street knew what they do ,they may choose to invest elsewhere .
Maybe some funds could make it a selling point that they dont lend stock .
