Short sellers aren't masters of the universe. Have a look at Metcash. Holds first place @ 20% short sales Yet the share price has gone up about 50% in the last 3 weeks or so. And no zig-zagging either. Just a steady increase day by day. Now someone correct me, but looks like institutional buying. The only thing I can't fathom is why shorts have not decreased in this time. But just goes to show, all SGH needs is some catalyst, institutional buyers will come on board and shorts be damned. Since so many brokers (not to mention dubious AFR "news" articles) have hung their hats on uncertainty around the ASIC review as a reason to stay away, the resolution of this review will IMO be that catalyst.
